Marie L. Ennis

Portsmouth, RI - Marie L. LeDoux Ennis, 82, of 32 Evergreen Drive, Portsmouth, RI, died Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at Newport Hospital, Newport, RI. Born in Newport, RI on May 13, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Louis P. and Lillian Crowell LeDoux.Mrs. Ennis worked at Child Family Services for the past 16 years, as a certified nurses aid. She was a devout catholic. Mrs. Ennis enjoyed gardening, bird watching, reading novels, sewing, making outfits for her grandchildren and needle point. Marie was very appreciative for her caring and compassionate neighbors. Her lifelong devotion was to her family especially caring for her very special daughter Eileen The Queen/Our Little Bean. She is survived by her children Michael Kevin Ennis and his wife Robin of Wenonah, NJ, Brian Ennis of Fall River, MA, Tracy Rutledge and her husband Col. Joe Rutledge, U.S.M.C. of Middletown, RI, Stephen Ennis and his wife Lisa of Portsmouth, RI and Eileen Ennis of Portsmouth, RI. Her sister Evelyn LeDoux of Middletown, RI, and her nine grandchildren, Sean Ennis and Kristin Ennis both of Oak Valley, NJ, Katie Rutledge, Joey Rutledge and Julia Rutledge all of Middletown, RI, and Stephanie Ennis, Chris Ennis, Daniel Ennis and Ethan Ennis all of Middletown, RI. She was the sister of the late Lillian Schwartz and Philip LeDoux and the sister-in-law of the late Anna LeDoux. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2008, at 10:00 am in Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. Burial will be in St. Columbas Cemetery in Middletown.Calling hours will be held on Saturday morning from 9-10am in the funeral home.
