Marie-Louise Betty

Marie-Louise Betty, 96, formerly of Beacon Street, Middletown, died on Monday, December 30, 2013, at Village House in Newport.She was the wife of the late James E. Betty and the late Richard Campbell.Born on September 7, 1917, in Newport, RI, she was the daughter of the late John Hudson and Marie Jonnet Spooner.She leaves her sister, Marcelle Casavant, of Middletown.Marie-Louise was a graduate of Rogers High School. She worked as an accountant for Dannin and Dannin for many years. Mrs. Betty was a communicant of St. Lucy's Church. She also was a member of AARP, the Newport Republican Women's Club, the Business and Professional Women's Club, and Insight. She enjoyed books on tape, Broadway musicals, travelling, gardening, and painting.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 3, 2014 at 9 am in St. Lucy's Church, 909 West Main Road, Middletown. Burial will follow in St. Columba Cemetery, Middletown.Calling hours are omitted.In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Robert Potter League for Animals, PO 412, Newport, RI 02840.
