Marie Rose Green

Newport, RI - Marie R. Ferreira Green, 81, of 27 Newport Avenue, Newport, RI, died Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at Heatherwood Nursing and Subacute Center, Newport, RI. Born in Newport, RI on April 24, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Joseph C. and Rose Ferreira.Mrs. Green was a 1944 graduate of Mary Immaculate High School in Providence. She was a member of St. Joseph Church Choir, she was a Girl Scout leader for troop 732, she taught catechism at the Park Holm boys club, she was a member of the PTA at Coggeshall School, she was a member of the Legion of St. Mary at St. Joseph?s Church, she was a Rogers High School band booster, a member of the Fraux #235 in White Sands New Mexico, and a member of the NCO Wives Club. Mrs. Green also sang in the church choir, taught guitar and was active in the USO. She is survived by her son James C. Green, Jr. of North Kingstown, RI, her daughter Susan Ann Green of Newport, RI, and her brother Joseph Lopes of Waco, TX.She was the sister of the late Joseph C. Ferreira, Jr., Frank Ferreira, and Dominga Mills. A Memorial service will be held at a date and time to be announced.
