Marilyn Edward

Marilyn June Reid Edward, 74, died on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at home. She was married for 54 years to her husband, Forrest A. Edward of Middletown. Born in Santa Anna, CA on June 30, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Emmett F. and Eula Stidham Reid.Besides her husband Forrest, she is survived by her brother Charles Reid and her sister Doris Edwards both of California and a brother-in-law Horton N. Edward. She has four children, Kimberly E. Johnston of California, Scott A. Edward of Newport, Lorie Hicks of Nevada and Sergeant First Class Craig W. Edward stationed at Fort Bragg, NC and his wife Doris Edward of Waterloo, NY. Marilyn also has seven grandchildren, Gretchen Langdale, Robert Langdale, Elizabeth Johnston, Nathaniel Johnston, Rachel Hicks, Rebecca Hicks and Steven Hicks. Her funeral will be held on Monday, February 11, 2008, at 10:30 am in First Presbyterian Church, Broadway and Everett, Newport. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery in Tiverton.Calling hours will be held on Sunday, February 10, 2008, from 4-7pm in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.
