Marion A. Cowell

Marion A. Cowell, 75, of Harbor Village Drive, Middletown, RI, died on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at Newport Hospital. Born on December 16, 1939 in Keene, NH, she was the daughter of the late Richardand Doris (Greenwood) Stalbird.Marion was a Certified Nurse's Aide on Aquidneck Island; her last position was at the Grand Islander. She touched the lives of many and deeply cared for those she worked with and met. She loved her children and grandchildren deeply and looked forward to family times greatly. Her sense of humor made all whom she met laugh.She is survived by her children, John Stalbird of New Ipswich, NH, Scott Cowell of Portsmouth, RI, Warren Cowell of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Catherine Shorey of Middletown, RI and Timothy Cowell of Portsmouth, RI; three sisters, Dolly Wright of South Carolina, Joyce Rogers of New Hampshire and Patricia Lee of Florida; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sons, Daniel and Michael Cowell, and her brother, Norman Stalbird.Calling hours will be held on Sunday, March 22, 2015 from 10:00-11:00 am in Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI, with a memorial service at 11:00 am in the funeral home.
