Middletown, RI - Marion E. O?Connor Kampmeyer, 87, of 333 Green End Avenue Middletown, died Thursday, February 10, 2005 at Newport Hospital Newport, RI.She was the wife of the late Louis A. Kampmeyer. Born in Hartford, CT on December 16, 1917, she was the daughter of the late James and Catherine Keane OConnor. Mrs. Kampmeyer worked as a sales clerk from 1943 to 1944 at the former Torpedo Station on Goat Island. She had also worked at the former Zimmerman Nursing Home on Kay Street, and then went to work in the Dinning Hall for Manpower on the Newport Navy Base, she also worked at the Newport Hospital for 10 years as a housekeeper. Mrs. Kampmeyer enjoyed dancing and swimming. She is survived by her son Louis J. Kampmeyer of Newport, RI, her daughter Katherine Shorey of Middletown, RI, and two grandchildren.She was the sister of the late Catherine LaBonte. Her funeral will be held on Monday, February 14, 2005, at 8:00AM, from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian burial at 9:00AM, in St. Lucys Church, 909 West Main Road, Middletown. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown.
