Marion Etta Reynolds Newport, RI - Marion Etta Reynolds, Ella, 78, of 34 Vernon Ave, Newport, RI, died Saturday February 6, 2010 at Newport Hospital surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Elmer A. Reynolds Sr. for 55 years. Born in Newport, RI on September 11, 1931, she was the daughter of the late John and Pauline Martin Snyder.Marion grew up in Newport, where she met the love of her life, Elmer with whom she just celebrated their 55th Anniversary. She was a loving caring mother of six, grandmother of 7 and great grandmother to 2. She enjoyed camping, swimming, the beach, bowling, BINGO, penny socials, 20/20 Club at K of C and beating her family at cards. She enjoyed everything that was fun. Marion also loved the strange assortment of animals her children brought home to become part of the family. She also enjoyed coffee hour with her best of friends: Emily, Rita, Nana Rosa and Estelle. Most of all she loved spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband Elmer A. Reynolds Sr. of Newport, RI, three sons, three daughters-in-law and one daughter: William Billy and his wife Beverly of Middletown, Elmer Jr. and his wife Lynn of Middletown, one daughter Tina Murphy-Reynolds of Newport, and a son Douglas of Florida and daughter in-law Loreen Reynolds of Bristol, RI. She also leaves a sister, Dorothy Cabral of Newport, and two half brothers John McCollum of Greer, SC, David McCollum of Portsmouth, RI, seven grandchildren: Jason, Andrea, Matthew, Patrick Murphy, Elmer III EJ, Michael and Justin Murphy, two great grandchildren Caden and Clara, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sons John and Mark Reynolds and a sister Charlotte Synder OFlaherty. She also leaves an extensive extended loving family the Rosas and OFlahertys. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, February 10, at 11:00 am in Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway Newport.
