Marion Louise Simmons

Marion Louise DeLaVergne Simmons, 95, of 66 Phelps Road, Middletown, RI, died Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at Grand Islander Health Care Center, Middletown, RI. She was the wife of the late Alfred Simmons. Born in Newport, RI, on March 12, 1910, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Curran DeLaVergne. Mrs. Simmons was a homemaker who enjoyed re-decorating her home and enjoyed a good book. She is survived by her children Herbert W. Bloom of Middletown, RI, E. Allen Bloom of East Providence, RI, Barbara Christ of Middletown, RI, and Marion Outlaw of Middletown, RI, a brother Harold Deglau, of Phoenix, AZ, a sister Helen Bryant, of Vista, CA, ten grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.She is preceded in death by her brothers Edward DeLaVergne, Theodore Deglau, and Donald Deglau, and sisters, Elizabeth Deglau, and Ruth DeSantis. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday January 7, 2006, at 1:00PM in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI.Burial will be in Newport Memorial Park in Middletown.Calling hours will be held on Saturday January 7, 2006 from 11:00AM-1:00PM in Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI.
