Marion Richardson

Newport, - Marion Richardson, 81, of 76 Broadway, Paramount Building, Newport, died Tuesday, February 25, 2003 at Newport Hospital Newport, RI. Born in Providence, RI on April 29, 1921, she was the only child of the late James A. and Lydia Peabody Richardson.Marion served in the Army during World War II in the European Theatre as a nurse. She achieved the rank of Major and stayed in the reserves. After WWII she worked in her service, as a private duty nurse for many years. She was a member of the American Legion, the former Calvary United Methodist Church and currently was a member of St. Pauls United Methodist Church. She also attended the Archipelago group at Trinity Church. She is survived by two cousins Winifred Peabody of Middletown, RI, and Ethel McClain of South Dakaota and many more cousins.She was the cousin of the late Nellie Peabody Smith, G. Francis Peabody, Mary G. Peabody and Ivan Peckham Chase. A Memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2003, 4:00 PM in St. Paul United Methodist Church, 12 Marlborough Street, Newport. Burial will be in Middletown Cemetery in Middletown at a later date.
