Marjorie W. Hinman

Newport, RI - Marjorie Hinman of Newport, RI, died Tuesday, July 20, 2010. She was 96. Born in Kingston, NY on December 6, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Emma Seifts Walters.She was predeceased by an older brother, Charles, and three younger sisters, Winifred, Helen and Shirley.During WWII, Marjorie served as a WAVE in the US Navy. Prior to that she worked in New York City as a secretary in a publishing firm. She traveled extensively and enjoyed the opera, classical music, and fine art. She read thousands of books over her lifetime, and loved animals and a glass of good champagne. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, James Hinman, her daughter, Julia, and her son in law, Sinclair Weeks, her grandson Matthew and her granddaughter Emma.
