Deltona, FL - Mark Donald Francis, Sr., 44, of Deltona, FL, formerly of Middletown, RI, died unexpectedly Sunday, November 8, 2009 in Deltona.Born in Newport, RI on January 9, 1965, he was the son of Jacqueline Jewell Francis of Portsmouth, RI and Richard Francis, Sr. and his wife Linda Burgess Francis of Florida.Mark graduated from Middletown High School in 1983. He was on the wrestling team during high school. He was the former manager of Speedy Muffler in Middletown before moving to Florida where he became the manager of Big T Tire and Wheel for the past 20 years. Mark enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his son, family and friends, fast cars and motorcycles. Over the years, he has done several charity runs on his Harley Davidson. He enjoyed working on cars and motorcycles and he was known to be one of the best mechanics around.Besides his parents, he is survived by his son, Mark D. Francis, Jr. of Deltona, FL, his brothers, William M. Francis and his wife Ana Cordeiro Francis and Richard Francis, Jr., and his wife Melissa Sherman Francis both of Middletown, RI, his stepbrothers, George and Larry Burgess, his half sister, Catherine Francis of FL, his nieces, Katherine and Nicole Francis and his nephew, Cotter Francis, all of Middletown, RI and several nieces and nephews in Florida.He was the grandson of the late Paschal and Irene Jewell and John and Ruth Francis and he was the stepbrother of the late Wayne Burgess.A funeral mass will be held in St. Lucys Church, 909 West Main Road, Middletown on Monday, November 30, 2009 at 10:00AM.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mark Donald Francis Memorial Fund, c/o Richard Francis, Jr., 121 Maple Avenue, Middletown, RI 02842.
