Newport, - Marvin ?Woody? E. Woodall, 92, a resident of the Village House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Newport, formerly of 87 Reservoir Road, Middletown, and of Blenheim Newport, died Friday, January 24, 2003 at Newport Hospital Newport, RI.He was the husband of Louise Frances Sherwood Woodall of Newport. They celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary in November 2002. Born in St. Clair Springs, AL on January 14, 1911, he was the son of the late Benjamin Franklin Woodall and Sarah Maude Rankin Woodall. Mr. Woodall served as a hospital corpsman in the US Navy prior to WWII.Mr. Woodall was a federal civil service police officer on the Newport Naval Base for 37 years retiring in 1976. He was a member of the Newport Fisherman Club. Mr. Woodall was an avid fisherman and gardner. Besides his wife he is survived by his son Marvin J. Woodall of Naples, FL, his daughter Grace H. Szaro of South Kingstown, RI, his brother Charles Woodall of Gadsden, AL, his sister Lourene Lyda of Gadsden, AL, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.He was the brother of the late Earl Woodall. His funeral will be held on Monday, January 27, 2003, at 9:00AM in the Hambly Funeral Home Brick House, 30 Red Cross Avenue, Newport. Burial will be in Newport Memorial Park in Middletown.
