Mary A. Nunes

MIDDLETOWN, RI, - Mary A. Lacerda Nunes, of 25 Wayside Avenue, Middletown, RI, died Monday, August 1, 2005, at Newport Hospital, Newport, RI. She was the former wife of Gabriel S. Nunes of Westport, MA. Born in Newport, RI on January 27, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Bettencourt Lacerda. Mrs. Nunes had worked as a housekeeper until 1990. She was a communicant of Jesus Saviour Church and a member of the Church Rosary Sodality. Mary was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She is survived by her children Michael J. Nunes of Middletown, RI, and Deborah J. Breault of Franklin, NH, her siblings Henry Lacerda of Middletown, RI, Francis Lacerda and Joseph Lacerda both of Portsmouth, RI, Lucy Mee of Encinates, CA, Belle Toner of Newport, RI, Dorothy Baccari of Newport, RI, three grandchildren Zack, John, and Sigrunn Foss all of NH, and two great grandchildren Anne and Kayleigh Foss both of NH.. She was the sister of the late Anthony Lacerda. Her funeral will be held on Friday, August 5, 2005, at 8:00AM, from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian burial at 9:00AM, in Jesus Saviour Church, Broadway And Vernon Avenue, Newport. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown.Calling hours will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2005, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm, in the Memorial Funeral Home.
