Mary Ann Dewick

Newport, RI - Mary Ann Dewick, 82, of 15 Prescott Hall Road, Newport, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 15, 2008, at Village House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Newport, RI. She was the wife of James Robert Dewick. Born in County Kerry, Ireland, on May 25, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Dennis and Honora Walsh Doody.Mary immigrated to the United States in 1950 and worked professionally as a cook before her marriage. She love Irish music and was gifted with a beautiful singing voice. Mary enjoyed her backyard and loved picking fresh vegetables from her garden. Besides her husband of 52 years, she is survived by her son James Robert Dewick, her daughter Jo-Ann Bernadette Kery, her brothers John Doody and Timothy Doody, her sister Bridget ONeill and six grandchildren.She was the sister of the late Ann Doody Her funeral will be private.
