Mary B. Faria

Middletown, - Mary B. Frank Faria, 81, of 595 Aquidneck Ave, Middletown, died Friday, May 16, 2003 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence, RI.She was the wife of Manuel Faria. Born in Jamestown, RI on May 8, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Antone Frank and Anna Lacerda Frank. Mrs. Faria was raised on Watson?s Farm in Jamestown and her family was the last to operate that farm. She graduated from Rogers High School and then began work at the Naval Torpedo Station. She later worked for the Lincoln Store on Thames Street in Newport. She married Manuel Faria on May 20, 1950. In 1953 they bought Green Acres Distributors, a soda distributing company. She worked as a receptionist at Clicquot Club/Green Acres with her husband and raised their family. She was a former member of the Vasco da Gama Society and was an active volunteer at Jesus Saviour Church in Newport. Mrs. Faria was an avid reader. She is survived by her husband Manuel Faria of Middletown, RI, sons Stephen Faria of Middletown, RI, and Robert Faria of Saunderstown, RI, daughters Roby Faria of Middletown, RI and Patty Faria Gallagher of Middletown, RI, five grandchildren and a brother Joseph Frank of Jamestown, RI. She is the sister of the late Antone Frank. Her funeral will be held Wednesday, May 21, 2003, at 9:00am from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00am in Jesus Saviour Church, Broadway and Vernon Avenue, Newport.
