Middletown, - Mary B. Beach Maloney, 98, of Grand Islander Health Care Center Middletown, formerly of 248 Eustis Avenue, Newport and Blenhiem, Middletown, died Thursday, March 27, 2003 at Grand Islander Health Care Center Middletown, RI.She was the wife of the late Charles E. Maloney. Born in New Jersey on February 23, 1905, she was the daughter of the late James Beach and Mary Sherry Beach.Mrs. Maloney was the organist at St. Augustins Church, St. Josephs Church and St. Marys Church were she played for the wedding of President John F. Kennedy. She also volunteered playing the organ at various nursing homes. Mrs. Maloney was a member of the De La Salle Mothers Club and organized the music for the school musicals and was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and the Third Order of St. Francis. She is survived by her son Jack Maloney and daughter in-law Rosemary Maloney of Middletown, RI, and seven grandchildren: Patrick Maloney of Portsmouth, RI, Mary Maloney Murgo of Middletown, RI, Margaret Toppa and Michael Toppa both of Fort Lauderdale, FL, John F. Toppa of Newport, RI, Jennifer Maloney Dring of Portsmouth, RI, and Jason Maloney of Deerfield Beach, FL, and eleven great grandchildren.She was the mother of the late Charles E. Maloney and Mary M. Toppa and the sister of the late James Beach and Harry Beach. Her funeral will be held on Monday, March 31, 2003, at 8:00 AM from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian burial at 9:00 AM in St. Marys Church, Spring Street, Newport. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown.
