Virginia Beach - Mary White Bruni, 95, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on September 19, 2011 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Assisted Living facility. She was the wife of Angelo M. Bruni, who predeceased her in 1986. She was the last of seven siblings. Born in Middletown, RI, she lived in Newport, RI until moving to Virginia Beach in 2001. She was the daughter of Manuel C. White and Mary Evangeline White. She worked at Raytheon as a proof reader, and retired in 1981. Mary was a member of St. Josephs Church in Newport, and she attended the Church of the Ascension in Virginia Beach.She was a dedicated wife and mother. Her passions were God and family. Mary leaves one daughter, Janyce Bruni OBrien, and her husband, Bob; one son, James M. Bruni; two beloved grandchildren, Gayle OBrien Blachura Mark, and Julie OBrien Orlando John; and five great-grandchildren who brought such joy to her life, Brenden, Samantha, RaeAnn, Lauren, and Evan.There will be a viewing on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 from 6 to 8 pm at Smith Williams Funeral Home, 4889 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach, VA. A graveside service and burial will be at St. Columbia Cemetery in Newport, RI at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 24, 2011.
