Middletown, - Mary Christine McQuaid Osean, 81, of 33 Clayton Street Middletown, formerly of Willow Avenue, Middletown, died Wednesday, January 29, 2003 at home. She was the wife of the late Richard William Osean Sr.. Born in Boston, MA on Aug. 5, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Francis James Leo McQuaid and the late Frieda Merceiri McQuaid. Mrs. Osean was the manager of the former David Rough Jewelers of Newport from the late 1960?s through the early 1990?s. She was a communicant of Jesus Saviour Church, Newport. Mrs. Osean was an avid gardener, reader, and loved craft making and was an excellent cook. Mrs. Osean was a Sgt. with the US Army during WWII, serving with the Womens Army Air Corps WAAC. She is survived by daughter Janice M. Osean of Middletown, RI, daughter Maryanne Osean of Charlottesville, VA, son Michael P. Osean of Middletown, RI, son Richard W. Osean of Providence, RI, daughter in law Arlene Osean of Providence, brother Francis McQuaid of South Boston, MA, sister Anne Harris of Quincy, MA, and grandmother of Caitlin Price of Charlottesville, VA. She was the sister of the late Matthew McQuaid. Her funeral will be held Monday, Feb. 3, at 08:00 AM from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian burial at 09:00 AM in Jesus Saviour Church, Broadway And Vernon Avenue, Newport. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown.
