Middletown, RI - Mary Dugan Allan, 77, of Harbor Village Apartments Middletown, formerly of 23 Concord Drive, Middletown, RI, died Thursday, February 19, 2004 at Newport Hospital Newport, RI.She was the wife of the late John S. Allan and the former wife of Raymond L. Malone Sr of Little Compton, RI. Born in Newport, RI on April 19, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Richard F. and Kathryn Lawton Dugan. Mrs. Allan was a 1943 graduate of Rogers High School and she also graduated from the University of Rhode Island. She was a teacher for 30 years at Thompson Junior High School, until her retirement in 1989. Mrs. Allan also taught at North Kingstown High School. She was a communicant of St. Marys Church in Newport, a member of the Rogers High School Alumni Association, the Delta Kappa Gama Society and a member of the teachers union. Mrs. Allan loved bingo. She is survived by her son Thomas R. Malone of Portsmouth, RI, two daughters Judith A. Malone and Kathryn M. Jarvis both of Portsmouth, RI, her step daughter Anne Allan of Middletown, RI, her brother Richard F. Dugan Jr. of Little Compton, RI, her sister Cathleen D. OConnell of Newport, RI, four grandchildren, her former husband Raymond L. Malone Sr. of Little Compton, RI, several nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and great nephews.She was the mother of the late Raymond L. Malone Jr. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2004, at 8:00 AM from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian burial at 9:00 AM in St. Marys Church, Spring Street, Newport. Burial will be in Trinity Cemetery in Portsmouth. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the St. Marys Church, Building Fund, Spring Street, Newport, RI 02840.
