Portsmouth, RI - Mary Jones Dumont, 81, of 120 Gormley Avenue, Portsmouth, RI, died Monday, March 29, 2010 at Newport Hospital, Newport, RI.She was the wife of Armand Dumont. Born in Kansas City, MO on December 21, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Lula Skinner Jones.Mrs. Dumont grew up in Independence, MO and moved around as a Military spouse raising her family. She enjoyed her garden growing flowers, and making crafts, including clothing for her family as well as making ceramics and painting crafts of all kinds. Mrs. Dumont was very active with the Portsmouth Senior Center for over 20 years volunteering in every position there. Besides her husband of 10 years, she is survived by her children, Leslie John Harper, Jr., of Portsmouth, RI, Richard Harper of Rutherford, NJ, Pennie Durand of Newport, RI, Gary Harper of Providence, RI, Deborah Guerrero and her husband Andy of Portsmouth, RI and Crystal Williams and her husband Nicholas of Shiloh, NC, her brothers Harry Jones and Dean Jones both of Washington, nineteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.She was the sister of the late Kenneth Jones. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, April 3, 2010, at 8:00 am from the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, with a Libre Service at 9:00 am in St. Anthonys Church, 2836 East Main Road, Portsmouth. Burial will be in Trinity Cemetery in Portsmouth.Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 2, 2010, from 2:00-4:00 in the funeral home.
