Mary Edith Wicks

Mary E. Lariviere Wicks, 65, of 4 Cordiero Terrace, Middletown died Saturday, January 31, 2009, in Newport Hospital. She was the wife of William R. Wicks.Born in Fall River, MA on June 17, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Mary Silvia Lariviere.Mrs. Wicks worked for the familys business Wicks Nurseries as a plant propagator. She had also worked for Louis Hand Company as a sewing machine operator. Mrs. Wicks enjoyed knitting afghans and camping with her family and friends. She and her husband wintered in North Ft. Myers Florida where she enjoyed riding her three wheeled bicycle. Besides her husband she leaves a daughter Kerry E. Daily and her husband Ronald I. Daily of Middletown as well as her grandchildren Bryce W. Daily and Aleya M. Daily both of Middletown. She also leaves a brother Edward Lariviere and a sister Madeline Harrington both of Somerset, MA. She loved her nieces and nephews who loved her in return.Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at 8:00am from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway Newport with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00am in St. Lucys Church, 909 West Main Road, Middletown, RI.Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 4-7 pm in the funeral home
