Newport, RI - Mary Elizabeth Radice, 96, of 22 Rhode Island Avenue, Newport, RI, died Monday, January 23, 2012 at Village House Nursing Home, Newport, RI.She was the wife of the late David E. Flynn II and Ret. Chief of Police of Newport Joseph A. Radice. Born in Bristol, RI on August 22, 1915, she was the daughter of the late John and Michaelena LaFoggi Capochiano. Mrs. Radice worked as a clerk for the Newport Daily News. She was a communicant of St. Josephs Church.She is survived by her son Barry M. Flynn of Newport, RI, her grandchildren, Susannah Flynn Chinoy, Neil Peirson Flynn, Rebecca Flynn Graham, Andrew Peirson Flynn, Major-Select Sean Flynn, Rachel Flynn Fall and Charlotte Flynn, her great grandchildren, Claire Stallmer Amirault, Carole Stallmer, Grace Flynn and Gunter Flynn Fall and two great-great grandchildren, Lenora Amirault and Nick Amirault.She was the mother of the late David E. Flynn III and sister of the late Rose Sullivan, Michael Capochiano, Frances Benisch, Samuel Capochiano, Donald Capochiano, and Emily Capochiano. Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 27, 2012, from 4-7pm in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.Her funeral will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2012, at 8:00 am from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am in St. Josephs Church, Broadway and Mann Avenue, Newport.Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown.Donations in her memory may be made to Child and Family Services, 31 John Clarke Road, Middletown, RI 02842.
