- Mary Ella Wolf DeCotis, 74, of 33 Sherman Avenue Portsmouth, died Saturday, August 24, 2002 at home.She was the wife of the late Michele J. ?Babe? DeCotis. Born in York, PA on December 19, 1927, she was the daughter of Maurice Wolf and Mary Boyer Wolf. Mrs. DeCotis was a Head Cashier with Almacs Of Newport. Mrs. DeCotis was a member of the Meatcutters and Food Store Workers Local 328. She was a member of the Former De La Salle Mothers Club and had been involved as a volunteer with the Newport Little League, the Babe Ruth League and the Sunset League for many years. She is survived by one son Joseph M. DeCotis of North Attleboro, MA, one daughter Rita M. Ferreira of Portsmouth, RI, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren, one brother Daniel Travis of Dover, PA and two sisters Betty Snyder and Justine Hake, both of Dover, PA, and one aunt Naomi Firth of York, PA.She was preceded in death by a brother Maurice Wolf of Harrisburg, PA. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2002, at 9:00 from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 AM in St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Road, Portsmouth.
