Newport, RI - Mary Ellen Houston Burns, 52, of 59 John H. Chaffee Blvd. #212, Newport, RI, died Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at Newport Hospital, Newport, RI. She was the wife of William P. Burns. Born in Newport, RI on April 28, 1955, she was the daughter of Dr. Paul C. Houston and Annemarie Freis Houston.Mrs. Burns was a wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed walking in the woods and finding new parks and trails to explore. Besides her husband of 29 years, she is survived by her son Patrick Burns of Newport, her brother Paul Houston of Lynn, MA, her sisters Barbara Reed of Middletown, RI, and Diane Houston both of Newport, RI and her grandchildren Shana and Owen Burns. Funeral services will be private.
