Mary Ellen Condon

Tiverton - Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother, Mary Ellen (Stauffacher) Condon, 97, died peacefully on October 1, 2016, at Brookdale Sakonnet Bay in Tiverton, RI. She was born in Monroe, WI, and graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a BA in Art Education. She is survived by George, her loving and devoted husband of 75 years, and five adult children; Sue (Bruce)Guenther of Silver Spring, MD; William (Barbara) Condon of Portsmouth, RI; Elizabeth (Thomas) Glembocki, of Apex, NC; Mary (John) Benziger, of South China, ME; and Holly (Darrel) Condon Hollister, of Fairfax Station, VA. She has twelve grandchildren: Jeffrey Condon, Stephen Guenther, Heather (Condon) Pillis, Joe Glembocki, Laura (Benziger) Ker, David Benziger, Corrie (Condon) Quintard, Peter Benziger, Mary (Benziger) Harris, Kristin Hollister, Katherine (Condon) Parker, and Michael Hollister; and fourteen great grandchildren, Audrey and Daphne Condon, Eva and Lilly Guenther, Nathaniel, Addison, and Anderson Pillis, Paige and Emily Glembocki, Conor and Freddy Ker, Kayleigh and Caitlyn Quintard, and Austin Harris.She was preceded in death by her brother, Ernest Stauffacher, her parents, Ralph and Mabel Stauffacher, and her sisters, Dorothy Johnson and Gladys Graham.Mary was a homemaker, an avid reader, a wonderful communicator, and a strong believer in life-long learning. She was an artist, a writer, and a lover of classical music, theater, and opera. Mary cherished her family, ever providing support through expressions of inspiration, motivation, and perspective.
