Mary F. Gaspar NelsonMiddletown, RI - Mary F. Gaspar Nelson, 94, formerly of 10 Maitland Court, Newport, died Thursday, March 25, 2010 at Grand Islander Health Care Center, Middletown, RI. She was the wife of the late Albert W. Nelson.Born in Fall River, MA on Feb. 28, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Adrian and Mariana DeCosta Gaspar.Mrs. Nelson was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church. She is survived by her children Charles and his wife Gail Raspotnik of Newport, RI , Charles H.and his wife Cheryl Harris of Tiverton, RI, William Nelson of Portsmouth, RI, Maryann Silvia of Middletown, RI, Dorothy and her husband Kevin Carolan of Sandy Hook, CT, Edna Ruth Beal of Portsmouth, RI, she also leaves her brother Joseph and his wife Dorothy Gaspar of Newport, RI. She had thirteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren.Mrs. Nelson was the mother of the late Shirley A. Andrews, grandmother of the late Brian Tani, mother in law of the late Alfred J. Silvia and sister of the late Louis Gaspar and Alice Marshall. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at 11:00am in the Memorial Funeral Home 375 Broadway, Newport.Burial will be in Newport Memorial Park in Middletown.Calling hours will be held Tuesday morning from 10 - 11 am.
