Mary F. O'Connor

Mary F. (Rodrigues) O'Connor, 86, formerly of Turner Road, Middletown, passed away on Friday, January 16, 2015 at the Newport Hospital. She was the wife of the late Alfred J. O'Connor.Born on January 29, 1928 in Middletown, RI, she was the daughter of the late Jose and Gloria (Marques) Rodrigues.Mary was born at home on Green End Avenue and resided in Middletown her whole life. She worked for 25 years for Egan's Laundry and Plaza Cleaners, where she loved the everyday contact with the customers and sharing in their daily lives. She was a parishioner of St. Lucy's Church. Mary's number one priority was making time for her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed reading the daily newspaper and was always up on current events, and knowledgeable in all facets of history. She is survived by her daughters, Gloria Sheridan of Williamsburg, VA, Mary Gilletti and her husband Jim of Middletown, RI, Brenda Mathes of Sierra Vista, AZ and Suzanne Hole and her husband Bob of Portsmouth, RI, her eight grandchildren, Adam and Stephanie Sheridan, Shawn Semonelli, Kai Gilletti, Casey Gilletti, Jordan Gilletti, Evan Hole and Jamie Hole and her two great grandsons, Dylan and Kellen Gilletti.She was preceded in death by her son in law Glenn Sheridan, and two brothers, Manuel and Joseph Rodrigues.Her funeral will be held on Monday, January 19, 2015, at 9:00am with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Lucy's Church, 909 West Main Road, Middletown.
