Mary F. ODea-King, 42, of Green End Avenue, Middletown, RI, died Thursday, May 15, 2008. She was the former wife of Edward King of Portsmouth, RI. Born in Malden, MA on January 13, 1966, she was the daughter of the late William Patrick and Catherine McKeon ODea.Mary grew up in Warwick, RI and graduated from Prout High School and then from U.R.I. with a degree in accounting. She worked for several accounting firms in both Providence and Newport, including the former Rooney, Plotkin and Willey and KLR. Mary also worked for Viewpoint Gallery framing shop in Newport and Middletown, and eventually became an owner of the business. Most recently, she worked as property manager for Newport Green with her close friend Pattie.Mary was very active in so many community activities in the area, including the Newport County Chamber of Commerce, where she was a past board member; the Newport Show House Guild; the Fishermans Memorial, and many volunteer positions throughout the area where she gave of herself to help others, and touched the lives of thousands. Mary also enjoyed running, golf, and cooking.Mary was a loving, caring mother, and is survived by her children Ryan Patrick King and Kelly Elizabeth King of Middletown; also by her brothers Sean ODea of North Brunswick, NJ, and Joseph ODea of Attleboro, MA, her sister Catherine Perron of Easton, MA, and her dear friend Pattie Bowe Turner. She was the sister of the late Michael P. ODea. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at 8:00am, from the Hambly Funeral Home, Brick House 30 Red Cross Avenue, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00am in St. Marys Church, Spring Street, Newport. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery, Middletown.Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, May 20 from 2-4 and 7-9pm, in the Hambly Funeral home.
