Mary G. Phillips

Middletown, RI - Mary G. White Phillips, 86, of 6 Columbia Road, Middletown, RI, died Monday, February 22, 2010 at Grand Islander Health Care Center, Middletown.She was the wife of the late Alfred J. Phillips. Born in Newport, RI on April 1, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Joseph C. and Candida Raposa White.Mrs. Phillips worked at General Electric as an assembler for 30 years. She was a communicant and active member of Jesus Savior Church. Mrs. Phillips was also a member of the GE Century Club. She loved nothing more then being with her family and traveling. She is survived by her children, Michael Phillips of Middletown, RI, Joyce Reagan of Middletown, RI, and Deborah M. Catabia of Ocala, FL, her brothers Alfred White and George White both of Middletown, RI, seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.She was the mother of the late Alfred Phillips, Jr., and the sister of the late Joe Mello, John White and James White. Her funeral will be held on Friday, February 26, 2010, at 8:00 am from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am in Jesus Savior Church, Broadway and Vernon Avenue, Newport.Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown.Calling hours will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2010, from 4-8 in the funeral home.
