Mary A. Grant,79, of Portsmouth RI, passed away on February 18, 2025 surrounded by her family.

Born May 6, 1945 in Fall River, MA, she was the daughter of the late John A. and Winifred A. (Armstrong) Leary. She was the wife of Ronald Grant and they were married 51 Years.

Mary grew up in Fall River, MA., and attended Fall River schools. She graduated from Mount Saint Mary Academy in Fall River in 1963.

During her career, Mary worked at the Navy Public Works Center, The Naval Underwater Systems Center and the Undersea Warfare Center. After 27 years of service working for the Government, Mary Retired in 2009 as a paralegal.

She was a volunteer and member of the Portsmouth Senior Center. She volunteered in many different ways at St. Barnabas Church, including the St.Vincent de Paul Society and as a CCD teacher. She was also a dedicated Red Sox Fan.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her son, Patrick J. Grant, her Grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Ryan Grant of Portsmouth, her sister, Claire McMahon of Swansea, MA, and many Nieces and Nephews.

She was the sister of the late Gerald A. Leary and John A. Leary

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 from 4:00pm-7:00pm, at Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, RI.

Her Funeral will be held on Wednesday, February 26, at 9:00am, from the Connors Funeral Home, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00am, at St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI. Burial will follow at St Columba Catholic Cemetery.

Please omit flowers, donations may be in Mary's memory to St. Barnabas Church.
