Newport, RI ? Mary Pappas Janaros, 85, of 39 Thurston Avenue Newport, died Thursday, December 23, 2004 at home. She was the wife of Michael Peter Janaros also of Newport, Rhode Island Born in Cambridge, MA on May 31, 1919, she was the daughter of the late John and Fotini Savas Pappas.Mrs. Janaros was a sales clerk for the former Newburys on Thames Street and also the former Lincoln Store. She was a secretary at St. Lucy?s School. Mr. and Mrs. Janaros were partners in the Satelite Restaurant on Broadway. She was a member of St. Spyridons Greek Orthodox Church and the Philoptochos Society and the Daughters of Penelope. She enjoyed participating in ceramics classes in the Newport area. Mrs. Janaros enjoyed her garden and the flowers it produced but most of all she enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren, She and her husband also took daily trips around the Ocean Drive, be it rain or shine. She is survived by her husband of 65 Years Michael Peter Janaros, her son Peter M. Janaros of Newport, RI, and three Daughter?s Tina Fowler and Joanne Cadenazzi both of Newport, RI, and Sofi Cofield of Middletown, RI, two sisters Helen Bean of Watertown, MA, and Florence Prescott of San Francisco, CA, eight grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.She was the sister of the late Michael Pappas.Her funeral will be held on Monday, December 27, 2004 at 11:00am from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI, followed with a funeral service at 12:00 PM in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church, 390 Thames Street, Newport. Burial will be in Middletown Cemetery in Middletown. Donations may be made to St. Spyridon Philoptochos Society, P.O. Box 2614, Newport, RI 02840..
