Mary Joanna Fugitt

Mary J. Foley Fugitt, 71, of Kent Road, Middletown, RI, also of Pocatello, ID, died on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at Newport Hospital.She was the wife of R. Payson Fugitt.Born on January 2, 1939 in Kittery, ME, she was the daughter of the late Philip A. and Caroline Cutts Foley.Mrs. Fugitt was a 1960 graduate of Gorham State Teachers College where she received her training in elementary education. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Newport and Grace Lutheran Church in Pocatello, ID.In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Dianne C. Masters of St. John, Virgin Islands and Nancy L. Devine of Pocatello, ID; two grandchildren, Shannon and Sean Devine; and two brothers, Daniel Foley of Lakeland, FL and Robert Foley of Connecticut. Her funeral service will be held Friday, October 15, 2010 at 11 am in Hambly Funeral Home, Brick House, 30 Red Cross Avenue, Newport. Burial will follow in Middletown Cemetery, Middletown.In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 6 Everett Street, Newport, RI 02840.
