Mary L. Vierra

Middletown, RI - Mary L. Coggeshall Vierra, 81, of 5 Vierra Terrace, Middletown, RI, died Friday, November 7, 2008 at home with her family. She was the wife of the late George Vierra. Born in Norfolk, VA on December 5, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Susan Pingley Coggeshall.Mrs. Vierra worked on the Vierra Family Farm when she first got married. She then went on, to be a type operator for the Newport Daily News and Franklin Printing. She enjoyed playing bingo at the Newport Park Holm Senior Center and the Middletown Knights of Columbus. She also loved playing cards with her friends. Mrs. Vierra loved animals, dogs, cats and birds. She is survived by her children, Deborah Williams of Middletown, RI, Manuel T. Vierra of Bristol, RI and Donna Marie Kivlehan of Clinton, IL, nine grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.She was the mother of the late Michael W. Vierra and the sister of the late Thomas Coggeshall and the late Isadora Humphries. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2008, at 11:00am in Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. Burial will be in Middletown Cemetery in Middletown.Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2008, from 6-8 in the funeral home.
