Middletown, RI - Mary Lou Kelsey Bedard, 64, of Admiralty Drive Middletown, formerly of Wakefield, RI, died Friday, January 7, 2005 at Newport Hospital Newport, RI.She was the wife of the late Emile J. Bedard, beloved mother of Irene Martin and Jeanette Clarke, and grandmother of three wonderful boys. Born in Bremen, OH on October 3, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Lucille Gordon Kelsey. Mrs. Bedard was a proud graduate from Providence College with a BA and Masters degree in Theology. She married her husband Emile in 1962. Her husband was in the Air Force for 22 years, Mary Lou was married for 30 years, and traveled extensively with her husband. She worked as a bookkeeper throughout her life wherever she lived. She was an active member of St. Lucys Church. She was the Treasurer and the Board Member of the Navy Relief Society in Newport. She has also volunteered at the Navy Hospital, McCauley House. She was an active participant of the Wednesday Morning Small Christian Prayer Group and a member of the Middletown and Portsmouth Senior Centers. While living in Wakefield, she was a Communicant of St. Jame?s/ St. Mary?s Church. In the past, she and her late husband were active with Unwed Mothers, Foster Children, Marriage Encounter, and Lay Eucharist Ministry. She was an avid traveller and she loved to dine out and go to the movies. She is survived by two daughters Jeannette Clarke of Tiverton, RI, and Irene Martin of Nashua, NH, six brothers Joseph Kelsey of Apopka, FL, Jack and his wife Andrea Kelsey, Timothy and his wife Audrey Kelsey and Mark Kelsey all of Columbus, OH, Robert and his wife Margaret Kelsey of Huron, OH, and William and his wife Cynde Kelsey of Sunbury, OH, her sister Patricia Davis of Columbus, OH. She is also survived by her grandchildren Stephen Clarke Jr., F. John Martin Jr. and Aaron Martin.She was the sister of the late Christine Horner. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, January 11, 2005, at 8:00 AM from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian burial at 9:00 AM in St. Lucys Church, 909 West Main Road, Middletown. Burial will be on Wednesday, January 12, 2005, in Bourne Veterans Cemetery in Bourne, MA.
