Mary Louise Burke

Mary Louise Burke, 69, of Portsmouth, RI, died on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at the Village House Nursing Rehabilitation in Newport, RI. Born on June 26, 1946 in Newport, RI, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Louise (Silvestri) Matthews. Mary was a Health Unit Coordinator at St. Annes Hospital in Fall River, MA in the Pediatrics Unit for 33 years, retiring in 2003. She was a communicant of St. Barnabas Church. Mary's favorite day was Sunday, when her great-niece, Karma Matthews, would visit her. She is survived by her brothers, Robert M. Burke of Lawndale, CA, Richard Matthews and Wayne Matthews of Portsmouth, RI, and Daniel Matthews, Jr. of Humble, TX.; her nieces and nephews, Sarah Matthews of Portland ME, Brian Matthews, Shelby Matthews and John Paul Matthews, all of Portsmouth, RI, Hannah Louise Matthews of Humble, TX, Quinn Burke of Lawndale, CA; and her great-niece, Karma Matthews of Portsmouth RI. She was the aunt of the late Chase Matthews.Calling hours will be held on Monday, August 10, 2015 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM in Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, RI.Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at 10:00 AM in the funeral home.
