Portsmouth, RI - Mary C. McGinn OConnor, 91, of Portsmouth, RI and Delray Beach, FL, died in her home on Sunday, August 3, 2008 surrounded by her family.Born in Providence, RI on January 29, 1917, she was the daughter of the late James B. and Alice Cummings McGinn. She was a devoted wife for 67 years to Charles A. OConnor, Jr., and mother of seven children, Charles A. OConnor, III and his wife Susan Plaeger of Washington, DC, Stephen J. OConnor and his wife Gail of Portsmouth, RI, David P. OConnor and his wife Judy Krotky of Chicago, IL, Mary C. Mimi of Brookline, MA, Anne Downey and her husband Kevin of Boston, MA, Kevin J. OConnor and his wife Susan of Portsmouth, RI and Christopher OConnor and his wife Susan of Brooklyn, NY, seven grandchildren, one great grandchild, three brothers Vincent P. McGinn of Providence, RI, Robert V. McGinn of Riverside, RI and Joseph A. McGinn of Bristol, RI and her sister Alice R. McGinn of Providence, RI.Mary was a graduate of Emmanuel College in Boston, MA and a former Elementary school teacher in the Pawtucket and Middletown School Departments retiring after 17 years in 1984. Her funeral will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2008, at 11:00 am in St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Road, Portsmouth. Burial will be in St. Columbas Cemetery in Middletown.Calling hours will be held on Thursday morning from 10-11am in the St. Barnabas Church.
