Mary R. Bucolo

Mary R. Bucolo Portsmouth, RI - Mary R. Bucolo, 81, of 147 Lawrence Drive, Portsmouth, RI, died Tuesday, May 16, 2006 at Newport Hospital, Newport, RI. She was the wife of the late Mariano J. Bucolo. Born in Needham, MA on May 24, 1924, she was the daughter of the late James and Mary McGuiness Ruane.Mary was a graduate of Newton-Wellesley School of Nursing. She was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving as a nurse from 1947-1952. She was a member of Wanumetonomy Golf Club. She was also an avid bridge player where she became a regional master in bridge and was an active member of the Viking Bridge Club. Mary was a member of Common Cause and she genuinely enjoyed her work as a volunteer for Child and Family Services of Newport County. She is survived by two daughters Janet Eastwood and her husband Patrick of Andover, MA, and Carol J. Mutty and her husband Mark of Portsmouth, RI, two sons Michael J. Bucolo and his wife Sherry of Palo Alto, CA, and Peter A. Bucolo of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. She is also survived by her sister Elizabeth Anderson of Needham, MA and seven grandchildren Weston and Lauren Bucolo, Dylan Kesson, Rebecca Mutty, and Kate, Ethan, and John Eastwood. She was the sister of the late James, Edward, John, Thomas, and Margaret Ruane, and Gertrude Fellows.Her funeral will be held on Friday, May 19, 2006 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30a.m.in St. Anthonys Church, 2836 East Main Road, Portsmouth. Burial will be in St. Marys Cemetery in Bristol. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Child and Family Services of Newport County, 24 School Street, Newport, RI 02840.
