Born in Smyrna, Asia Minor, on June 26, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Dionysius and Cleo Apostolides Demessianos . Ms. Spiratos had owned and operated with her late husband Anthony G. Spiratos the Valet Cleaners and Sea Villa Appartments for over 50 years. She is survived by Son George Spiratos, Daughter-in-law Evelyn E. Spiratos of Newport, RI , 4 Grandchildren Katherine M. Carbone of Newport, Stephanie A Synnott of Middletown, Penelope C. Spiratos Of Needham , MA and Anthony Spiratos of Newport; 3 Great Grandchildren Kristin, Caroline Christopher Synnott Of Middletown; a Sister Catherine Nakos Birmingham, Alabama. During her lifetime she hosted many military and civilian visitors from all over the world and she enjoyed the reciprocal cordiality when she traveled to Europe and Asia Minor. She was Active in the U S Navy League and enjoyed attending graduations of the Naval Officers at the US Naval War College for many decades She was a member of the Republican Women and was particularly proud when her Grandson Anthony ran as the republican candidate for the RI 75 th District. Mrs . Spiratos was a lifelong member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church and a member of the daughters of Penelope and a Member of many other civic and Charitable organizations. Her funeral will be held Saturday, July 10, 2004 at 10:00 am from the Hambly Funeral Home 30 Red Cross Ave To St. Spyridons Greek Orthodox Church, 390 Thames Street, Newport.for Funeral Services at 11:00 am.
