Mary T. Rucando

Portsmouth, RI - Mary T. Rucando, 67, 18 Peggy Lane, formerly of 116 Immokolee Drive, Portsmouth, died Sunday, December 31, 2006, peacefully at home. She was the wife of Robert P. Rucando of Portsmouth for 45 years. Born in Kenton, Middlesex, England on August 15, 1939 she was the daughter of the late James and Ann Hore OGorman.Mrs. Rucando was an avid reader and loved crossword puzzles. But she will best be remembered as a loving mother, always putting others before herself, especially her family. She was a devoted nanny to her grandchildren, Paul, Kelly, Faith, Emily, Alex, Zachary, Laura, and Robert. She is survived by her husband and five children, Claire Smolenski and her husband Alex of Middletown, RI, Adam Rucando and his wife Susie of Portsmouth, RI, Paul Rucando and his wife Tami of Robertsdale, Alabama, Matthew Rucando of Eagle River, Alaska, and Jill Perkins of Portsmouth, RI, a brother John OGorman and a sister Ann Bass both of England, and her eight grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Josephine Ware. Her funeral will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. in St. Anthonys Church, 2836 East Main Road, Portsmouth. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, January 3, 2006, from 4-8 p.m. in the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth.
