Mary Theresa Bettencourt

MIDDLETOWN, RI - Mary T. Silva Bettencourt, 54, of 136 Fenner Avenue, Middletown, RI, died Wednesday, January 18, 2006, at home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Joseph Bettencourt.Born in Cedres Faial, Acores, on December 14, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Maria Clara Silva.Mrs. Bettencourt moved from the Acores in 1967 and has resided in Middletown for 39 years. She worked at General Electric for 10 years and the for the last 18 years at the Newport Navy Base BOQ.Besides her husband she is survived by a son Anthony Bettencourt and his wife Melinda of Middletown, RI, a daughter Susan Ruhle and her husband Philip of Peacedale, RI, a brother Manuel Silva of East Providence, RI, a sister Rosa Neves of Middletown, RI, and her granddaughters Briana Bettencourt and Alexis Bettencourt both of Middletown, RI, and her grandson Philip Ruhle of Peacedale, RI. Her funeral will be held on Monday, January 23 at 8:00, from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 in Jesus Saviour Church, Broadway and Vernon Avenue, Newport. Burial will be in Newport Memorial Park in Middletown.Calling hours will be held on Sunday, January 22, 2006, from 3-6PM in the Memorial Funeral Home.
