Mary Trent Newport, - Mary Trent, 82, of the Heatherwood Health Care Center, Bellevue Avenue, Newport, formerly of 76 Broadway, Newport, RI, died Monday, August 9, 2004, at the Newport Hospital Newport, RI. Born in Newport, RI, on November 1, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Martha Louise Smith Johnson. Mrs. Trent had worked for various families on Bellevue Avenue in Newport. She is survived by two brothers Robert J. Johnson of Providence, RI, and Reginald J. Johnson of Country Club Hill, IL, four sisters Gertrude Simms of Newport, RI, Emma M. Williams of Riverside, RI, Gloria Sykes of Newport, RI, and Barbara A. Miller of Middletown, RI, and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late James H. Smith, Earl N. Smith, Ronald Johnson, and Lucille L. Blevins.A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 13, 2004, at 11:00 AM in Friends Cemetery, Tilden Avenue, Newport. Memorial donations may be made in her memory to Community Baptist Church, 50 Dr. Marcus F. Wheatland Boulevard, Newport, RI, 02840. Arrangements are by the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.
