Portsmouth, RI - Mary Lawton Tyler, 87, of 41 Giblin Way, Portsmouth, RI, died Monday, February 6, 2012 at Newport Hospital, Newport, RI.She was the wife of the late John M. Tyler, MD. Born in Newport, RI on December 14, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Carlton B. and Mary McCool Lawton.Mrs. Tyler enjoyed gardening and had her own green house. She is survived by her children, John C. Tyler and his wife Deborah of San Antonio, TX, Anne T. Mostert and her husband Justin of Portsmouth, RI, Elizabeth T. Lapointe and her husband Richard of Warwick, RI and Margaret M. Tyler of West Warwick, RI, her grandchildren, Alice V. Lapointe, Elizabeth E. Mostert and Joshua R. Mostert and her great granddaughter Alexia L. Sperduti.She was the sister of the late Carleton B. Lawton. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 10, 2012, at 10:00am, in St. Marys Episcopal Church, 324 East Main Road, Portsmouth.Burial will be private.In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Robert Potter League for Animals, P.O.
