Masue F. Davis

Masue (Fujioka) Davis, 80, of Newport, RI, died Friday, August 15, 2014 at Newport Hospital surrounded by her loved ones.Born in the South Hilo Village of Onemea Territory, HA on May 20, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Masaji Fujioka and Tsurue (Izumizaki) Fujioka.Mrs. Davis worked for over 40 years at the Newport Naval Base as a sales clerk. She loved gardening, visiting with the elderly and was a very devoted and passionate member of the Evangelical Friends Church in Middletown. Masue also worked in the uniform shop on the naval base and worked with the Newport Voting Polls. Musically gifted, she played several instruments and sang in the church choir. Her happiest moments were spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchild. She is survived by her son, Carl R. Davis Jr. and his wife Lisa of Portsmouth, RI, her daughters, I. Carlene Davis and her fianc James Rodrigues of Portsmouth, RI, and Sharon G. Davis of Cranston, RI; her sisters, Kimiyo (Kay) Cadwallader and Mabel Kim of Hawaii; her grandchildren, Jason, Jai-Lee, Alyssa, Tayla, Jenna and Jacob Davis; her step-granddaughter, Christen Jacome and her husband Jay; her great-grandson, Jason Davis, Jr.; and her step-great-grandsons, Corey Rodrigues and Cameron Harris.She was the sister of the late Nasani Fujioka, Isani Fujioka, Stanley Shigeto Fujioka, Betty Psuaki Ikehara and Yukiko Matsunoto.Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 from 4-7 pm in Evangelical Friends Church, 70 Bliss Mine Road, Middletown, RI.
