Tiverton, RI - Matilda Ann Depointe Gonsalves, 89, of 433 East Road, Tiverton, RI, died Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at Silver Creek Manor, Bristol, RI. She was the wife of the late Arthur Gonsalves and the late Manuel Costa. Born in Portsmouth, RI on March 14, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Antone and Mary Brown Depointe. Mrs. Gonsalves was a member of St. Madeline Sophie Church. She was also a member and one of the founders of the Womens Guild. Mrs. Gonsalves loved working in her flower garden and crocheting for her family and friends. She is survived by her sons Paul Costa of Tiverton, RI, Roger Costa of Morristown, NJ, and Anthony Gonsalves of Tiverton, RI, and her daughter Helene McDonald of Brandon, MS, her sister Cecelia Fontaine of Portsmouth, RI, and her grandchildren Michael Costa of San Francisco, David Costa and Stephen Costa both of Taunton, MA, Anthony Gonsalves, Jr., of Boston, MA and Heather Gonsalves of Tokyo, Matthew Costa of Fayetteville, AR, Michael Costa of Morristown, NJ, Deirdre Mooney of Hattiesburg, MS, and Kerry Miller of Brandon, MS, and her great grandchildren, Sara Costa, Daniel Costa, Katelyn, Costa, Caden Costa and Ella Grace Miller. She was the sister of the late Manuel Depointe, Olivia Lopes and Irene Martin.Her funeral will be held on Friday, March 30, 2007, at 8:30 am from the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Madeleine Sophie Church, 35 Lake Road, Tiverton. Burial will be in Our Lady of Fatima Cemetery in Little Compton.Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 30, 2007, from 8:30 - 9:30am in the Connors Funeral Home.
