Maude Turner

Newport, RI - Maude Bryant Turner, 88, of Admiral Kalbfus Road Newport, RI, formerly of 479 Park Drive, Portsmouth, died Saturday, November 7, 2009, at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence, RI. She was the wife of the late Charles P. Turner. Born in Valdosta, GA on July 10, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Ivy Bryant and Corinne Blakeny Bryant. Mrs. Turner worked at the Massachusetts State Hospital for 52 years before her retirement. She enjoyed her many visits to Newport with her late husband, Charles, to visit family and friends.She is survived by her nieces, Cynthia Smothers of Newport, and Pauline Perkins Moye of Newport, as well as many other nieces and nephews and her many friends in Portsmouth. A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 13, 2009, at 11:00 am, in Trinity Cemetery, East Main Road, Portsmouth. Memorial donations may be made to the Food Pantry at Community Baptist Church, 50 Dr. Marcus Wheatland Boulevard, Newport, RI 02840.
