Maureen Dorate Volpe

Maureen Doratae Volpe, 66, of Jamestown died Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at Heatherwood Nursing and Subacute Center of Newport, RI. Born in Providence, RI, on March 23, 1946, she was the daughter of the late John and Eleanor (White) Volpe. After graduating from Katherine Gibbs, Maureen worked for Admissions Department at Providence College. She received her undergraduate degree from PC in 1973. In the early 80s Ms. Volpe went to work for the City of Warwick. Her career there lasted for 30 years, retiring in 2009, as Director of Social Services. She is survived by her sister Mary Catherine (Volpe) Pomert of Newport, RI and her niece Nicole Pomert. Calling hours will be held on, Sunday, October 21, 2012, from 5-7 PM, in Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. Her funeral will be held on Monday, October 22, 2012, at 10:00 AM, in St. Mark Church, 60 Narragansett Avenue, Jamestown, RI.Burial will be in St. Mark Cemetery, Jamestown.
