Portsmouth, - Melinda Marie Rebello Ervin, 41, of 123 Greenfield Avenue Portsmouth, died Friday, June 6, 2003 at Lahey-Hitchcock Clinic Burlington, MA.She was the wife of Michael K. Ervin of Portsmouth. Born in New Bedford, MA on July 28, 1961, she was the daughter of the late Alfred Rebello Jr. Mrs. Ervin was a Registered Nurse with St. Lukes Hospital, in New Bedford, MA for 12 years and Hospice Visisting Nurse Association of Narragansett for 3 years. Mindy graduated from Dartmouth High School and a 1986 graduate of Bristol Community College for nursing in Fall River. Mindy was a member of the TRIO Transplant Recipient International Organization, and the American Liver Foundation. She was a volunteer at the Rhode Island Organ Bank and the New England Organ Bank and very active in organ donations. Mindy wrote a newsletter for the Rhode Island Transplant Recipients in 1996 and was a liver transplant recipient in May of 1999. Besides her husband her aunt Celeste Vieira and uncle Frank Vieira, and her dog Ernie and many dear friends survive her.Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2003 at 10:00 am in the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth. Burial will be in Trinity Cemetery in Portsmouth.
