Tiverton, RI ? Melvin Hall of 225 Brayton Road Tiverton died, Monday September 26, 2005 peacefully at home.He was the beloved husband of Lorraine M. Souza Hall of Tiverton.Born in Baltimore, MD on January 19, 1926, he was the son of the late George W. and Carrie Richards Hall.Mr. Hall was an army veteran serving in WWII having received two purple hearts and one bronze star.He worked for 22 years for the former Royal Packing Co., in East Providence as a salesman retiring in 1992.Mr. Hall was a member of the Tiverton VFW Fishing Club having served as their treasurer for over 20 years. He was also an avid CB Radio enthusiast. Mr. Hall enjoyed camping, fishing and golfing.Besides his wife he leaves two sons Melvin Hall Jr. of Salisbury, MD, and George Hall of Windsor Mill, MD three daughters Sheila Harding of Baltimore, MD, Trudy Hall of Columbia, MD and Tammy Palmer of Westport, MA, his stepson Michael Escobar of Tiverton, RI and two step daughters Lori Clarke of Portsmouth, RI and Lisa Hertzog of Townsend, DE, his sister Jeanette Casico of Weirsdale, FL, sixteen grandchildren, twenty eight great grandchildren and one great-greatgrandchild.Funeral Services will be private.Donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 222 Richmond Street, Suite 200 Providence, RI 02903 or to the Visiting Nurse Service of Newport and Bristol Counties, 1184 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI 02871.
