Michael Jon Davies

Michael J. Davies, 43, of Admiral Luce Street, Middletown, RI, died on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at home. Born on January 13, 1970 in Portsmouth, VA, he is the son of Larry and Gail (Babcock) Davies and the brother of April Davies of San Diego.Michael was a quiet and private person with a great sense of humor. He was a graduate of the Portsmouth Abbey and the University of Chicago. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed the Red Sox, the Patriots and the Bruins. Michael was talented guitarist who used to play in several local bands. He enjoyed reading classical books in several languages, studying history, listening to classical music and the Grateful Dead, photography capturing sunrises, sunsets and wildlife, gardening and traveling. Michael truly enjoyed his time spent in Canada with his Canadian relatives.Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 1, 2013 from 5 to 7 pm in Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI 02840 with a service in the funeral home at 7 pm.
