Michael S. Edward

Newport, RI - Michael S. Edward, 57, of 16 Brinley Street Newport, died Thursday, December 30, 2004 at the VA Hospital in Providence, RI.Born in Newport, RI on February 9, 1947, he was the son of the late Alfred W. and Lillian Morgan Edward. Mr. Edward graduated from Rogers High School in 1965. After graduation he worked for the Boys and Girls Club of Newport. He retired in 1997 after working for the Newport Water Department for twenty years. Mr. Edward was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. Since his retirement he enjoyed walking around Newport. He especially liked walking to Battery Park where he met many of his friends. He is survived by two brothers and two sisters, Alfred Edward and Catherine Pinheiro both of Newport, RI, Andrea Creaney of Portsmouth, RI, and Charles Edward of North Scituate, RI, fifteen nieces and nephews and sixteen great nieces and nephews.He was the brother of the late Palmer B. Wald.A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2005, at 10:30AM in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. Burial will immediately follow in Newport Memorial Park in Middletown.
